Sometimes you do not need a hotel. A beautiful house that understands its landscape, silence between meadows and two hosts who know that hospitality begins long before breakfast will do.

Some restorations ask you to admire everything that is new. Mezi Lukami makes you notice what remained: hand-hewn beams, stone beneath your feet, time marked into whitewashed timber and light moving through a glazed passage from one meadow to another.
That is why calm arrives so quickly here. The house is neither scenery nor a design catalogue. It is precise but warm, old but not tired. Daniela and Petr gave it back its voice, then did the most important thing: they allowed it to speak softly.
Restoration as conversation
Stone, timber, glass. Nothing extra — yet nothing missing.
Little of the original house survived, but the restoration never lost humility. The foundations of a traditional Wallachian log house gained a contemporary life without erasing every wrinkle. Stone remains stone, timber shows its age and new glass simply opens a view where a farm passage once stood.
The glazed dining room is the strongest gesture: courtyard on one side, meadow on the other, a long table in between and Davide Groppi’s large round Moon light above it. It almost disappears by day. At night it becomes another full moon over Čeladná.

A house for slow days
Meadow in the morning. A book after lunch. A moon inside after dark.
Two bedrooms, white boards, soft textiles and an open loft. Mezi Lukami does not collect effects; it builds calm from small things. Carry your coffee outside, turn a chair towards Kněhyně and discover that privacy need not mean being cut off from the world.

A second house, another table. The same hospitality.
Daniela is a designer and both Čeladná houses carry her eye for material, light and space. Petr brings the kitchen. Guests at Mezi Lukami can walk roughly ten minutes to their second house, Mezi Plůtky, for breakfast or dinner. Arrange it in advance — the personal rhythm is part of the charm.
Petr cooks exactly as we like: no circus around the plate. Roast baby chicken, steak, truffle pasta. Food that sounds simple on paper and feels complete at the table. He brought knowledge home from travelling without losing the joy of feeding people.

Čeladná is edible
The Beskydy Mountains are a food paradise. Čeladná sets their best table.
Trips here are planned around bookings as much as peaks. Within a small area you can find breakfast outdoors, regional cooking, contemporary art inside a hotel and a celebratory evening worth dressing up for after a hike.

Kovářna: breakfast without hurry
Eggs outside, good coffee and a morning allowed to drift towards lunch. Kovářna is a natural stop before a gentle outing or after a deliberately slow start. Check current opening hours before setting out.

Jurkovič above the forest
Pustevny: colour no mountain mist can steal.
Do not visit Pustevny only for the view. Libušín and Maměnka by Dušan Jurkovič blend Wallachian motifs, Art Nouveau and joyful ornament with surprising lightness. Walk to the Radegast statue or continue to Radhošť; in high season, expect company and arrive early.

Čeladná is an excellent base for gravel, mountain and electric bikes. Quiet local lanes begin at the house, climbing grows along the Čeladenka valley and the mountain connections around Martiňák reward fitness or a motor. Surfaces, access and weather change quickly here — always check an up-to-date outdoor map and respect trail signs.

Čeladná & golf
A slow loop between the house, village centre and golf. Ideal for the first afternoon when landscape, coffee and very little planning are enough.
Moderate
Up the valley to Podolánky
Follow the Čeladenka towards Podolánky. The climb builds gradually and the same valley leads home, so distance is easy to adjust.
Challenge
Martiňák & mountain links
For experienced riders and e-bikes: forest roads, longer climbs and fast-changing weather. Choose marked cycle routes and verify the surface first.
Three unhurried days
House, flavour, mountains.
The plan deliberately leaves room for weather, a long breakfast and the decision to stay home all day.
Arrival & house
Arrive in daylight. Walk through stone, loft and glazed dining room, carry coffee to the meadow and book your first dinner with Petr at Mezi Plůtky.
Pustevny & a grand dinner
Start early for Pustevny, Jurkovič’s buildings and the ridge to Radegast. Rest in the afternoon; reserve Cattaleya or Miura for the evening.
Bike, golf or nothing
Choose the Podolánky valley by bicycle, a Prosper tee time, or Kovářna and a slow morning. Keep the final hour just for the house again.

- An e-bike makes excellent sense here. Helmet, water, lights and an offline map are sensible even for a short-looking loop.
